How to create a bootable USB Drive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjPU86BLVto

If you don't want to watch the entire video (however it is recommended that you do so, since it provides a visual aid), you can also follow these instructions.

Things Needed
You'll need a P5 Pentalobe Screwdriver, a T5 Torx Screwdriver, a Phillips Head Screwdriver, an Apple to NVMe SSD Adapter (adapter used in video linked above), an NVME m.2 SSD (WD Blue SN550 linked above), your MacBook Pro 2015 13", and a time machine backup of all of your files. You will also need a bootable installer with MacOS Mojave or later on it (tutorial on how to make one linked above).

Upgrading the Hardware
You'll first need to make a backup of all of your data. Whether this is through Time Machine or another method, ensure your data is safe. Once you are done that, shut down the Mac. Turn it over, and use your P5 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the screws. Two of the screws near the hinge are different lengths than the rest of the screws. Once you remove the lid, unplug the battery. Try not to touch the motherboard since doing so can create static electricity, damaging the components. Unscrew the SSD from the computer with your T5 Torx screwdriver. Gently pull out the SSD. Place it in a secure place. Now take out your adapter and new SSD. Place the SSD in the adapter. Plug in the adapter to the Mac. Use the included screw to secure the adapter and SSD into the Mac. Plug in the battery. Place the lid back on. It will appear to bulge slightly, however once all the screws are in place the lid should be perfectly normal and there will be no bulge.

Formatting the drive and installing MacOS
Getting MacOS onto the SSD is the most difficult part for most people, most people try to boot into Internet Recovery Mode which will not detect the SSD. You need to create a bootable installer and boot into that, and then the SSD will be detected. Plug in your USB installer and hit the power button of your Mac, then immediately hit the Option key. Your USB should show up. Hit Enter, and you will see the Recovery screen. Go into Disk Utility and your drive should be there. Erase the drive and format as APFS and GUID Partition Map. Once that is complete, quit Disk Utility and click install MacOS. Then you install MacOS like normal. Once MacOS is installed, you should see the setup screen. Now you can restore from your Time Machine backup, and you're complete. You have successfully upgraded your 2015 MacBook Pro 13" storage.
