I am quite disappointed that I'm going to have to stop using this Mifa hybrid Sports Leather bands for my Apple Watch. They are just STELLAR!
I forgot to mention that this product is only $25 bucks!

At MREH, Monty and I base all our reviews on actual usage. With Apple Watch straps, it means we use them. Most of the time, the products we use in our closeups won’t look great because...well...they’ve been used…
The Hybrid Sports Leather band has a leather top and a silicone bottom. It looks fancy on the outside and is comfy on the inside. What’s it like? It’s like going commando in a pair of dress pants. No...that’s not it.
The strap is mostly silicone and the elastomer that Mifa uses has a lot more give than the stuff that Groove Life uses. This extra flexibility ensures that the watchstrap conforms to your wrist easily. I rarely noticed that I had this watch strap on when I was doing my computing for this channel.
Now while doing my testing period, the question that I had in the back of my mind was whether or not Mifa used real leather in the strap. This brown strap patina’s quite well which gives it an authentic leather look and the watch strap absorbs water which is a good indicator of actual leather BUT Mifa also sent me this camouflage strap and I’m pretty sure this camo pattern didn’t happen naturally...
The clasp is made from anodized stainless steel, it’s not magnetic and has a nice curve to it. The curve in the clasp helps the straps stay to the contour of your wrist. Clasps on other straps tend to be straighter which I found to be a bit more noticeable when I’m working on my laptop.
This band will fit wrists between 16.5cm to 22.5cm.
Now this strap looks awfully familiar to the Spigen RetroFit I reviewed about a month ago but from what I can gather, Mifa’s been making these straps since 2015 and Spigen only started a couple of years ago so Mifa’s the OG when it comes to these types of straps.
As a side note, these Mifa straps are better than Spigen’s versions. The bands are thicker and the lugs are a complete level above the Retrofit. And it’s cheaper!
The thing that stands out the most with Mifa’s Hybrid Sports Leather Apple Watch Band is the fit of the product. Those lugs are tight! It fits like an Apple Product and that’s something I can’t say for the 35+ other bands I’ve used so far.
And when it comes to accessories for my Apple devices, I personally prefer ones that match the build quality of my Apple devices. But that’s just me.
The lugs barely move. Flexing my wrist results in the lug barely coming out of the Apple watch. The lug latch comes out at the same distance no matter where I press it.
Now I reached out to Mifa to see what they did different with the lug’s and Mifa said they are they only 3rd Party company that uses CNC milling machines to make their lugs. Everybody else uses a casting and hand sanding process. Mifa’s process allows them to hit the tolerances as outlined by Apple.
This is one of the lugs from a Spigen RetroFit. It looks brutal compared to the Mifa lug.
If you want to see what Apple is looking for with 3rd Party Apple watch straps, check out my video where I break it all down.
As I said earlier, I didn’t have any issues using this band on a daily basis. Working with it was a non-issue, it was comfortable enough to use while I slept.
Working out with this band wasn’t bad BUT it’s nowhere as comfortable as an Apple Sport Loop. BUT it was more comfortable than working with the Groove Life band. Exercises that required a decent amount of wrist extension where doable with the Mifa Hybrid Sport band.
Now how’s the “moist wrist”? Well, after you try to sweat out all your bad food decisions from the night before, you can easily wipe the sweat off, put on something nice and have your Apple Watch match the occasion.
