PUBG Mobile on Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 VS Apple iPad Pro 2020 field of view test 18:10 VS 3:2 to 16:9

In this video I'm testing the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and the Apple iPad Pro 2020 very specifically to see what their native field of view response is when gaming using PUBG Mobile.

The point of the test is to see if either the iPad Pro 2020 or the Galaxy Tab S7 is better than the other with field of view when playing PUBG Mobile.

Don't forget. When you gameplay with a wider field of view for horizontal FOV, you will have an advantage when gaming as you will see more of the game to your left and right of your player. This means that you have an advantage to seeing enemies and other players etc. who may be wide of the screen, compared to someone playing with a narrower field of view.

In the video I've used HDMI screen video captures of both the iPad Pro and the Galaxy Tab S7. These HDMI screen video captures are the exact same aspect ratios compared to their screen aspect ratio and gameplay aspect ratio.

The games are both captured at their highest resolution via an Elagto 4K60 Pro MK2 and captured using OBS studio.

Once captured I convert the field of view of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 by expanding its width to fill the horizontal aspect ratio of a 16:9 widescreen target output. This is an aspect ratio conversion from 18:10 to 16:9 I then line up the bottom of the original 18:10 frame to line up with the bottom of the 16:9 frame This is to keep the game in it's default POV point of view position for the game character/player and the gamer.

I then do the exact same thing with the footage from the iPad Pro 2020. In that instance I'm converting it's native screen aspect ratio from 3:2 to 16:9

As you can see in the final comparisons, there is no difference between the iPad Pro 2020 vs Galaxy Tab S7 with their horizontal field of view when playing PUBG Mobile, either in their native aspect ratios or when they've been expanded to 16:9.

There is however a higher vertical field of view with the iPad Pro 2020 compared to the Galaxy Tab S7, which could also be seen as being better. Although I'm not sure if that extra height would really give a player that much extra advantage in competitive gameplay.

One thing that I have noticed though is that when playing the same game on both the Tab S7 and the iPad Pro 2020, the iPad has better resolution and also better render picture quality.

You may also notice the odd frame rate problem with both the S7 and iPad Pro, this is because both were maxed out for the highest possible resolution, frame rate and quality settings for this video.

Also, the results here would be the same for comparing the Galaxy Tab S7+ the iPad Pro 2020.

Right now, both the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ are the best Android tablets for gaming.
