The Ciel Color Brick is a great case. If you’re looking for a great feeling, great handling case at a decent price, this Color Brick is worth getting.

On the flip side, if you hate grease marks, this case might not be for your.

At MREH, Monty and I base our reviews on actual usage. When it comes to iPhone cases, we do three things. We mindlessly watch TikTok videos, take selfies and drop our iPhone’s in the case.

The Ciel Color Brick by Cyril by Spigen (that’s a convoluted word salad) that’s $25 dollar case ranks in the Top 25% of iPhone 11 cases which doesn’t happen very often.

The seams of the case between the TPU edge and semi-transparent PC back aren’t that noticeable. BUT oddly enough, the buttons on the inside look a little rough BUT that’s just me trying to be picky.

The case won’t slide around easily.

When it comes to size, the Color Brick is of average size. The case will feel a little thinner as the back is recessed a bit which prevents the back from scratching.

The Color Brick has a soft rubber finish which is the main reason why this case handles so well. It’s smooth but not slick. Now if you’re wondering it isn’t the same coating found on the Spigen Tough Armor Pro.

My biggest gripe with this case is the wear and tear. You are going to notice how hand-sy you get with your phone because your fingerprints are going to be all over it.

Now usually when it comes to soft rubber finishes, the coating will eventually come off on this Color Brick case, rubbing the case against a table doesn’t show much wear and tear which is neat.

Drops are going to be a different answer though.

Before I move onto iPhone access, I will say that the AirPod Pro case version of the color brick is equally as awesome.

Accessing your iPhone is where the Color Brick shines. The buttons are removable which means you maintain the click of the iPhone’s buttons. There’s no mushiness and no sticky gaps.

If you’re a button pushing selfie-monger, you’re going to love this case!

Ciel by Cyril by Spigen includes an extra set of buttons with each case so it allows you to change up the look of your case every once in a while.

There are no issues with accessing the screen as the case edges are rounded, the camera cutout is large enough to use whatever unnecessary camera lens protector for your device. The port cutouts are large enough for your oldest cables and one-handing your iPhone in this case is decent. The cutouts are chamfered a bit so they won’t get annoying after a few seconds.

The last thing I’ll mention is that the case has cut out for a lanyard so if you need to string your iPhone to your wrist or neck, you can!

When it comes to protection, Ciel by Cyril by Spigen doesn’t explicitly state the drop height of the product. Which is odd since Spigen plasters their drop protection claims all over their products.

The TPU bumper does include air pockets in the corner. Now as a side note, the corners are only 1.7mm thick whereas the rest of the case is around 2.2mm thick so having that tiny airbag in the corner apparently provides better shock absorption than TPU...

The case edges are high enough to use with a screen protector and still keep it off a flat surface, the camera area is a bit shallow to use with one of Spigen’s camera protectors

Any ways, let’s see do a bunch of random drops and see how well it performs.
