This is probably one of the only times I will recommend to wait for the "next best" model of a computer to be released. From the rumors and leaks we've seen recently, the new 2021 M1X MacBook Pro is going to be an extremely powerful computer. Furthermore, the 14 inch and 16 inch MacBook Pro models are apparently going through a redesign, including the return of MagSafe, new ports, mini LED screen, and the removal of the touch bar.

The raw power of the M1X chip is set to equal that of a newly released desktop Ryzen 5800x CPU. If this is true, I will likely be one of the many power users who will finally give up their powerful desktop machines for a more portable, but equally powerful laptop.
