The most painful Lightroom processes for me are import, preview building, and exports.

The SD card import blows away the USB 3 import but that could well be due to the camera's USB 3 throughput (yes it is a USB 3 camera).

The M1 proceeds to handily beat the i7 at previews and exports, all without a fan. The i7 machine roars like a 747 during all these tasks.

The M1 Air is the base model and the i7 is a 2015 15" 2.5Ghz i7 with 16GB RAM.

Lightroom Classic was tested as a translated app.
