A lot of people have reported excessive SSD usage on their M1 Macs (and even some older Intel Macs running Big Sur). Could this be related to the swap memory issues we've been hearing about?
In this video I do some testing on some of the most popular browsers, including Firefox, Brave, Safari, Chrome, and Edge. I find that a lot of these browsers actually write large cache files directly to the internal SSD instead of keeping it mainly in system RAM. Over time, this MAY cause early degradation of your internal SSD. However, this is very unlikely as I explain further in the video.
