For several months now I've been covering the M1 Mac SSD swap memory issue, where Macs seem to be using much more swap memory than usual. Many people are worried that this may degrade the internal SSD on their Mac Mini, MacBook Air, or MacBook Pro faster than usual. This is worrying because the SSD is not replaceable.

I've been trying to figure out what's causing this issue for months, and in this video I think I may have found the culprit - hugely un-optimised apps relying on Rosetta 2 are causing lots of data to be written to the SSD and not RAM. It also seems like the latest software version of macOS contains a few subtle changes that help with this greatly.
