Kotse Vlog: Episode 66 | Macbook Pro SSD Upgrade

My Macbook Pro suddenly stopped working as I got stuck on boot/blinking question mark folder. Although, I was able to fix it by reinstalling (reformat) Mac OS via Recovery Mode (cmd+R | cmd+option+R | cmd+option+shift+R then power button) but I still opted to replace my OLD 120 SanDisk SSD with Samsung 860 Evo 500 GB SSD (4.7K in lazada - https://www.lazada.com.ph/products/samsung-860-evo-500gb-25-inch-sata-iii-internal-mz-76e500bw-ssd-solid-state-drive-w-free-sata-cable-i261795602-s361653211.html?).

When I was trying to install the OS (cmd+R), it installed MAC OS High Sierra and all the apps that I had before have compatibility issues. So I reverted back to the same method I used in 120GB in installing MAC OS Sierra.

Note: Please make sure to backup all your files prior doing these steps.

1. Shutdown your MAC
2. Press Shift+Option+CMD+R then Press the Power button
3. This will boot to your OLD OS via Recovery Mode.
4. Do the normal process of first aid/reformatting your disk via Disk Utility
5. Select Reinstall macOS.
6. Make sure to connect to your WIFI to avoid installation loop.
7. After Installing the original OS that came with your MAC (mine was OS Lion), then upgrade it to your preferred OS (mine is Sierra).
8. You're Done!
