The latest beta in all honesty is glitchy and due to that it may be affecting your day to day usage of your Mac.

Details before installation:

1) Make sure that your USB/External Hard drive is a minimum of 12GB.

2) If you would like to keep your data, backup your storage via Time Machine or another SSD.

Path for Terminal:
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Catalina.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume

Things to keep in mind:

1) Make sure to connect to your Wi-Fi after booting into the start up disk menu.

2) The download times can vary based on your internet speed.
