Tech Guide's Stephen Fenech said the new Apple iPhone 12 will be "a gamechanger" and is expected to be "one of the best-selling iPhones for several years".

Apple's iPhone 12 has quickly become the most popular pre-ordered iPhone and the first to offer 5G.

A number of customers threw caution to the wind, opting to queue outside of Apple stores to pick up their new devices in person.

Mr Fenech said the iPhone had a 60 per cent market share.

"Australia is an iPhone nation," he said.
