With the introduction of Apple Silicon to upcoming Macs near the end of this year, I have discovered that the macOS Big Sur Beta OTA update actually has the bootloader for upcoming Apple Silicon Macs hidden as flashable files, which after extraction, has revealed some new boot screens, a new startup chime and even revisiting the iconic Sad Mac icon.
LEGAL DISCLAIMERS: I do not own a Apple Silicon DTK nor have I enrolled in the Universal App Quick Start Program. All boot images seen here have been extracted from a Big Sur OTA Update which I found on my Intel MBP. Also the startup manager photo at 0:26 was originally from a Apple WWDC video which falls under fair use for education purposes.
