Confirmed that Toshiba XG5 does not support the sleep/wake function when used as internal storage of A1708 MacBook.
Samsung PM961 works flawlessly in my testing.
If you find other NVME drives that are compatible with the A1708 MacBook, please leave comments! Thanks.
