Who has the best cell phone coverage? Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile? Verizon has the most 4G coverage, followed by AT&T, then T-Mobile. BUT T-Mobile has the most 5G coverage, followed by AT&T, and then Verizon. https://www.whistleout.com/CellPhones/Guides/Coverage
This is the ultimate cellular coverage comparison round-up. We’re going to look at coverage maps for 4G and 5G for each of the major carriers and figure out who has the best coverage, and where the strongest and weakest coverage is for each carrier so you know which is best for your next plan.
4G T-Mobile (62%)
T-Mobile has the least coverage so we’ll start with their map. Although they have the lease 4G coverage, 62% coverage isn’t bad, it’s only 8% behind Verizon the King of 4G. With that being said if you’re in Nebraska, central idaho, Oregon, northwest wyoming, Maine or West Virginia… you may want to look elsewhere for your coverage.
4G AT&T (68%)
AT&T is second when it comes to coverage, catching up to the Coverage King and only 2% behind. AT&T fills in some of T-Mobile’s spottier coverage but still has lackluster coverage in Nebraska, Montana, central Idaho, parts of Arizona, Nevada and Oregon. North East Maine still isn’t getting much love in terms of coverage either.
4G Verizon (70% )
Lastly, the KING ,or Queen, of 4G is Verizon with 70% nationwide coverage. Although they have the most coverage in the US, they still have some spotty coverage areas in Maine, West Virginia, Kentucky, scattered coverage across the Rockies and west coast.
5G Verizon .0014%
Because Verizon has the least amount of coverage, we’ll start with their map…. As you can see their coverage is fairly minimal and you have to zoom in pretty far to see any coverage. Verizon’s coverage is also only available outside because the signal can’t penetrate buildings quite yet, so we’re going to zoom into los angeles so you can see how their coverage works. If you want to learn more about Verizon 5G, check out the “i” in the upper right hand corner of the screen! Some cities with 5G include Boston, Detroit, Denver, and Salt Lake City. You can find a full list in the description.
5G AT&T 6%
AT&T has a lot more coverage than Verizon… but 6% is still pretty minimal in the big scheme of things. Now because AT&T has more that means i’ll highlight states not cities… the states with the most AT&T 5G coverage right now are New Jersey, Delaware, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Maryland.
5G T-Mobile (winner) 30%
Lastly we’re looking at T-Mobile’s 5G coverage map which is pretty impressive at 30% nationwide coverage. You will find T-Mobile coverage in MOST states with the most coverage in New Jersey, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Indiana, and Louisiana. The only state with NO T-Mobile 5G coverage is Alaska. Sorry.
