Huawei have pushed the limits of mobile phone camera zooming for a few generations now, starting with the Huawei P20 Pro's 10x zoom, advancing quickly to the Huawei P30 Pro's 50x zoom. For this test we went with the Huawei Mate 30 Pro - while it has a lower maximum zoom than the P30 Pro of 'only' 30x, the Mate 30 Pro features Huawei's newest optics and camera tech.

We rounded off our selection with the Google Pixel 4XL. Google's Pixel cameras have impressed us, offering top tier flagship image quality at a lower price point.
