I am quite fond of the Casetify Ultra Impact Case. Why? Because it reminds me of one of my favourite cases, the Griffin Survivor Core. Because of the corners.

NOW If both these cases existed back when the Survivor Core still a case, the Ultra Impact would come out on top.

I honestly can’t think of much that I don’t like about this case. It handles wells, is tough, looks cool and is well designed. Lots of thought has been given to the overall design of this product.

At MREH, Monty and I base our reviews on actual usage. Or Uso real in Spanish. Which means stuff gets used before stuff gets reviewed.

Monty reviewed the Casetify Impact Case a few weeks ago with that case getting a score of 4.1. This Ultra Impact gets a score of 4.2. The improved handling of the case offsets the extra bulk of the corners. And honestly, there was a lot Deja Vu when it came to making this review.

The Ultra Impact Case is in the Top 5 when it comes to clear cases and breaks the Top 15 when it comes to overall Slim cases. It’s pretty good.

The iPhone sits tightly in the case. The seams on the product aren’t bad but they are noticeable but you’ll see them if you pay enough attention to them.

The case won’t slide around on the front or the back and will add over 8mm to the width of the iPhone so the bulk is noticeable BUT it’s very localized. It’s only in the corners and they help quite a bit when it comes to handling.

What do I compare the corners to? The little finger thing on the end of hair shears. It adds to the bulk of the product but it definitely is handy.

When it comes to wear and tear, as I showed in the normal impact case, the clear back will scratch easier. There is a lip on the backside of the case that keeps the back off a flat surface which helps with the wear and tear. With the cases, you get a choice of smokey, clear, pink and midnight green.

And as a side note, when is anything green at midnight? Color names are total BS...

Honestly, small things like this lip make a world of difference when it comes to finding the best iPhone case.

Overall, the texture isn’t bad. I’m not a big fan of the TPU edged cases but large corners coupled with the printed back makes for a decent amount of texture.

Honestly, it’s all about the corners. Having that extra piece at the corners of the case makes for a world of difference when it comes to handling. I almost...almost...don’t care that it’s tougher.

When it comes to using the iPhone, I had no issues with buttons, the port cutouts are big enough and the cameras work as they should, Crap-charging works and gesturing on the iPhone works despite the larger case edges.

When it comes to protection, the Ultra-Impact is rated to 9.8 ft. which is 2.987 meters. Not 3 m or 9.9ft, it’s 9.8…

Odd.

These bumpers are made from QiTech, Casetify’s own branded TPE material. The TPE material on the inside of the case extends out to the corners, it’s not two pieces and the corners also include an air pocket. Something that doesn’t happen on the normal impact case.
