During Apple's WWDC 2020 keynote, Tim Cook announced the transition of Apple using intel processors to their own custom Apple Silicon chips based on the ARM architecture, which could potentially bring massive benefits to Apple's Mac lineup like better battery life, better thermal performance, and even significant power gains especially in the portable end of the lineup. However, there may be some disadvantages of moving over to this arm architecture, and some unseen issues that you should know about before waiting to purchase these new ARM Macs.
