Unboxing Motorola's Moto G9 Plus, the latest budget-friendly smartphone packing a quad lens rear camera, Snapdragon 730G performance (should be speedy enough for PubG etc) and a 5000mAh battery. It's one of Motorola's best G-series phones of 2020 and at £259 offers good value for money. However, check out my reviews of the Poco X3 NFC, Realme 7 Pro and other affordable blowers, and you'll know the Moto G9 Plus is up against stiff competition.
You get a mighty 6.8-inch IPS screen that serves up strong contrast and colours, complete with HDR10 Plus support. The camera can capture 64MP resolution photos, or 16MP with pixel binning, and shoot 4K resolution video. My tests so far show that the Motorola G9 Plus can cope with tricky conditions quite well, even if colour capture occasionally suffers. And you have a night mode when things get proper dark.
Battery life is strong thanks to the huge 5000mAh cell, plus you have an upgrade to the Moto TurboPower 30W charge tech.
So that's my early review of the Moto G9 Plus, but have you been using it as your full time phone? Let me know what you think below!
