A friend of mine asked me if I could help her breathe some life into her old computer (a Lenovo G560 from 2009) so I said sure.

I've had some experience with fixing laptops (both PC and Mac) and the laptop wasn't broken, so I figured it'd be a quick turn around and relatively cheap to squeeze a couple more years out of it by spending £130/140 on components to MAX it out.
•
The existing build was an Intel (R) Pentium (R) CPU, P6100 @ 2.00 GHz, 2GB single RAM memory module of Hynix DDR3 PC3-10600S, 250GB Western Digital Scorpio Blue 5,400 rpm, 2.5" SATA Hard Drive and Windows Home Premium pre-installed.
•
What I installed was a Crucial (by Micron) BX500 480GB SSD drive, 2 x 4GB Hynix DDR3 OC3-10600S 1333MHz 204-pin i buffered RAM modules and Windows 10 Professional 64-bit.
•
Just done the hardware upgrade and now I'm starting the software installation via a USB boot drive with Windows 10 Pro on it.
