Here is a complete recording and filming session, putting together a four part a cappella phrase.
Time stamps below:
1:01 Stage 1: recording videos of individual parts including making a quick reference track to record to;
6:28 Stage 2: transferring video takes to LumaFusion and synchronizing parts;
15:00 Stage 3: exporting audio only of each part to GarageBand;
17:21 Stage 4: Mixing in GarageBand and exporting to Final Touch;
22:08 Stage 5: Using Final Touch to create Mastered Audio;
26:47 Stage 6: returning mastered audio to LumaFusion for final production.
This is of course just a guide and mixing/mastering are to personal taste and dependent on the job and genre. One could record more parts on GarageBand to thicken up what’s already there.
Most importantly however is that this is all done within iOS: no change of device needed (though I did use an iPhone for recording as it’s easier to mount; I airdropped the videos to the iPad, where all subsequent production was completed).
Software apps used:
GarageBand for iOS - free
LumaFusion - £29

Final Touch - £20 - got it wrong in the video: sorry!

Audio Share - £4

Hardware:
iPad - £329: will record 60fps video HD and 4K
Microphone: Zoom iQ6 - £77
Lightning extender cable - £4 eBay
Total for Hugh quality video and audio production: £463
