Empowered by the King
Pastor Caleb Hankin
18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20 ESV
Empowered by the King
I. Our purpose in life is to know King Jesus and make Him known.
This is eternal life, that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 17:3
A. Love God.
B. Love others.
C. Make disciples.
II. We lack nothing in King Jesus to fulfill His purpose.
“I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 18:20b
III. Are you fulfilling God’s purpose for your lives?
“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” Luke 14:15
Discussion Questions
1. Who are your favorite leaders in history?
2. Did you know there are about 2 trillion observable galaxies? How does seeing Jesus as the King of every galaxy make you feel?
3. What is our purpose in life? What are some personal goals or distractions that get in the way of that purpose?
4. How does knowing and believing Jesus’ last promise help us with His last command?
5. What are some excuses we make that keep us from serving? (e.g. not good enough, don’t know enough about the Bible, too lazy, scared to fail)
6. What are some ways you can start serving Jesus this week? (e.g. serving the homeless, volunteering in children’s ministry, youth ministry, worship ministry, writing encouraging letters to friends)
7. Who is someone you can ask to start discipling you?
8. Who is someone you can start discipling?
