Apple fans around the world are excited to see the company preparing to launch its iPhone line this fall. But before the iPhone 12 appears on store shelves, it is expected that a much cheaper smartphone will be presented. In the past few months, rumors of iPhone SE 2 (or iPhone 9, as it is called in some reports) have spread like wildfire. We saw renders, specifications, and even an early pre-order for an unannounced phone, but according to a Taiwanese DigiTimes publication, an official presentation is just around the corner.
Apple will soon show iPhone 9 (SE 2)
Citing industry sources, DigiTimes reports that the iPhone 9 has entered the “final inspection phase” in China. Soon, Apple will introduce a new iPhone series, tentatively named iPhone SE 2, which has recently entered the final inspection phase at an assembly plant in Zhengzhou, China, according to industry sources.
The iPhone 9 was expected to be unveiled during Apple's spring event, which takes place in March each year from 2018. This can still happen if the presentation is not canceled due to coronavirus. It is very likely that Apple will refuse to gather a bunch of people in a large hall. However, this does not prevent them from broadcasting the presentation of the iPhone 9 (SE 2) online.
However, if the production of the iPhone 9 really ends, Apple may instead announce the phone via a press release, as was done for many new devices in 2017. It may not be as convincing as a press conference, but it makes no sense to wait if the product is ready for sale.
