I spent $1400 on iPad Pro Keyboards. Which one is best?

The BEST overall NON-trackpad keyboard? It’s the $150 Zagg Rugged Book Go. The Logitech Slim Folio Pro comes in a VERY close second.

If you want the trackpad, Apple’s own Magic Keyboard is the one to get at the soul-sucking price of $350 dollars. If you want an alternative to the Magic Keyboard, it’s NOT the Brydge Pro+.

--ProCase--

This is a $60 dollar keyboard. Which almost 80% cheaper than the most expensive keyboard in this list.

Does it do 80% less? Surprisingly, yes.

The only good thing about this product is the fact that you can really setup your iPad how you want with the keyboard since it’s not attached to the case.

So how about the cons? Well, ProCase doesn’t use a full keyboard. The keys are shorter which wreaks havoc on your muscle memory. So have fun trying to type more than ½ a page with this product.

--Zagg Slim Book Go--

The standout feature of the Slim Book Go is the hinge on the case. It’s incredibly useful.

The flexibility of viewing angles makes this case a great product to have around the house. And the hardshell case allows you to be a little rougher with the product.

On the flip side, the magnetic latch that holds everything together is a little weak, the material on the keyboard will wear quicker than usual and the iPad buttons are hard to press through the case.

--Logitech Slim Folio Pro--

The $130 Logitech Slim Folio Pro is a hidden gem. If you’re looking for a straight up alternative to Apple’s own Smart Folio Keyboard case, then get the Slim Folio Pro.

The best thing about this product? Is the typing experience. The full-sized keyboard is responsive, the keys are of a normal size and the Logitech includes a search button shortcut which I found incredibly handy when using iPad OS.

--Brydge Pro--

The pros for this product is that it makes your iPad look like a laptop.

The Brydge Pro looks great on paper but in real life, the entire setup is top heavy . The iPad weighs more than the keyboard it has a propensity to topple over.

If you use a glass screen protector on your iPad, the Brydge Pro’s hinges will start to come apart over time. Keep that in mind.

--Zagg Rugged Book Go--

The Rugged Book Go basically eliminates all but one of the shortcomings of the Slim Book Go.

Now the Rugged Book Go looks like it’s going to flap around all the time but Zagg has included magnets on the keyboard section that attach to the iPad so it keeps everything together when your out and about.

--Apple Smart Keyboard Folio--

The biggest upside about this product is that you can easily remove your iPad. Since the iPad ISN’T a laptop, you can easily add the keyboard functionality whenever you want.

--Brydge Pro+--

Honestly, you’d be better off buying an Apple keyboard and Trackpad for $250 dollars than wasting your time on the Pro+.

The Brydge Pro+ looks way better than it performs. The trackpad is slow and unresponsive. Anything past 1-finger usage is going to be flaky and all the wonderful gestures you’ve come to love on your Mac laptop or Apple Trackpad? Do not exist on the Pro+.

--Apple Magic Keyboard--

The Magic Keyboard allows you to use your iPad how you want to, when you want to. With every other Non-Apple product in this list, it’s a hassle to remove the bulky keyboard element from the iPad. Whether it be a case or turning off the BT, there’s something you have to deal with before you can use the iPad by itself. That’s not the case for the Magic Keyboard.
