Have you ever wondered why you see an ad for something in one app that you just searched for in another app? It's because historically apps you've installed on your Apple iPhone or iPad have had permission to track your activity in your other apps. If you don't like the thought of Facebook or other apps following your every move on your iPhone or iPad Apple gives you the option to turn off the ability for apps to track your activity across other apps and websites you use or access on your device.
Now let's walk through the steps to see which apps are tracking your activity on your iPhone or iPad.
Step 1. Launch the "Settings" app on your iPhone or iPad, and then tap "Privacy" in this menu. The Privacy menu is shown.
Step 2. Tap "Tracking" in the menu. The Tracking screen is displayed.
Step 3. If the Allow Apps to Request to Track feature is enabled, you'll see a list of apps that have requested permission to track your activity across other apps and websites. Within this list you can toggle on or off any apps where you want to change their permissions. Alternatively, if you don't want any apps to be able to track your activity on your iPhone or iPad, you can simply toggle the feature off.
