How to deactivate Facebook Messenger? In this tutorial, I show you how to deactivate your Facebook Messenger account on your iPhone or Android phone. Deactivating your messenger account is not straight forward but can be easily completed in less than 5 minutes. Follow the steps below to deactivate Facebook Messenger:
1. Open the Facebook Messenger account on your iPhone or Android phone.
2. Select your profile picture in the top left to open the menu.
3. In the menu select Account Settings.
4. Then in Account Settings, scroll down and select Account Ownership and Control under Your Facebook Information.
5. Select Deactivation and Deletion. Go through the steps to deactivate your Facebook account.
6. After you have successfully deactivated your Facebook account, uninstall and reinstall the Messenger app on your phone.
7. Then open the Facebook messenger app and sign in.
8. Select your profile picture in the top left to open the menu.
9. In the menu scroll down and select Legal & Policies.
10. Select Deactivate Messenger. Go through the process of deactivating y our account.
