I replaced the battery on my MacBook Air (early 2015) and updated the SSD to 1 TB. I used ifixit to purchase the necessary tools and parts, which came out to about $400 for the new hard drive kit with tools and the battery.

I highly recommend upgraded your laptop yourself opposed to getting an entirely new laptop. I did this upgrade a few months ago and have not had any issues. If anything the battery life could be a bit better, but it's no where near as horrible as it was prior. I literally couldn't work on my laptop no more than 30 minutes if that without it shutting off. I'm on my laptop allllll of the time so I can't tell that the battery drains more than it should. It has been sufficient.

If this video helped you or inspired you to take on the task of upgrading your MacBook yourself, please give it a like or comment and let me know. It would make me really happy!
You can upgrade a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro. I recommend ifixit, but there are other sites that offer upgrade kits.
