Connect AirPods to Your Mac with a Single Click! https://youtu.be/u5qb3HTGudk
Welcome to my short simple video about how to make a 1 touch shortcut to connect to your AirPods to your iPhone. If you use your AirPods with multiple computers or devices such as on your Mac, a pc, iPad, and iPhone then this can be a really handy way to switch your AirPods back to your iPhone that will function similarly to my 1 click AirPods shortcut for mac. If you’d like to learn more about how to set that up on your Mac check out my video, I’ll leave a link in the description below!
To create the 1 touch shortcut on your iPhone you’ll need to be running iOS 13 or newer. This shortcut will work for AirPods Pro, regular AirPods or likely any bluetooth headphones.
First run the shortcuts app on your iPhone. Then press the plus button in the upper right hand corner. Then press the add action button. Then choose scripting. Then scroll down and choose set playback destination. Once that’s chosen, it will take you back out to the New shortcut window. Tap the area highlighted in blue to set the destination. A list of all available audio devices will populate in the device list. Choose your AirPods. In my case I’m choosing “Bert’s AirPod’s Pro”. As a side not you can also use this to setup 1 touch connections to your HomePod, apple tv or even a bluetooth speaker or other bluetooth headphones if you like! Now that you’ve chosen your AirPods you can tap next in the upper right hand corner which will bring you to the screen that lets you name the shortcut. I’m going to call Mine “Connect to Bert’s AirPods”. Its also worth noting that you can run this shortcut using Siri as well as indicated below where you’re typing in the shortcut name. Now you can tap done in the upper right corner or on the keyboard. The shortcut is now created and will populate in your shortcuts list. To get the shortcut on the home screen is quite simple. Just locate the shortcut you just made and Long touch or haptic touch, the button with the three dots in the upper right hand corner of the shortcut you made. Then choose details. In the details screen you can customize the icon for the shortcut by tapping on it. You can customize the color and the glyph. Once you’re finished customizing the icon tap done in the upper right hand corner. Now from the details screen tap the “ Add to home screen “ button and then Tapp add in the upper right. You can also elect show the shortcut in the shortcuts widget if you’d like it to appear there as well. Then press done when you’re complete. Now when you go back to your home screen you can see your 1 touch shortcut.
Now next time you’re AirPods have been connected to a different device and you’d like to connect them back to your iPhone, you can easy connect to them just by using the shortcut! It’s really quite simple and requires less taping and swiping then the regular method through control centre or settings, especially if you put it on your home screen!
