The Call of Duty League is reportedly in negotiations to return to YouTube with a renewed three-year contract, according to insiders. When the league first started in 2019, it was announced that it would be streamed exclusively on YouTube, following in the footsteps of Activision Blizzard's Overwatch League. The three-year contract came to an end and for the 2023 Modern Warfare II season, the league switched to Twitch, without a exclusivity agreement. Sources now suggest that the Call of Duty League will return to YouTube for another three years. The change is planned to take place after this week's Major 2 event in Boston, making the Majors 3, 4, 5, and the CDL Championship only viewable on YouTube starting with the Major 3 Qualifiers. Since switching to Twitch, the CDL has seen an increase in viewership, due in part to large watch parties by popular creators like Scump and ZooMaa. The impact these watch parties will have if the league does return to YouTube exclusively remains unclear.
