Reviewing the best mid-range Android smartphones of Spring 2023 with the top camera tech, gaming performance and more, for a budget of around £400 UK. From the Pixel 6a and Nothing Phone 1 to Samsung's Galaxy A54 5G and Xiaomi's Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus. These are my favourite budget-friendly mid-range phones you can buy in 2023!

If you're after an even cheaper handset, check out my reviews and round-ups of the greatest Android smartphones under £300 and £200 too.

Manufacturers like Google, Nothing, Samsung, Xiaomi and Realme all offer a selection of compelling smartphones at a mid-range asking price. The Pixel 6a is still the best around for camera performance but rivals like the OnePlus Nord 2T and Samsung's Galaxy A54 5G aren't far behind. Recent additions such as the Nothing Phone 1 are also compelling, with unique features like wireless charging.

Meanwhile the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is a bit of a mouthful but also a great mid-range smartphone, boasting impressive specs for a budget-friendly cost. For less cash you can also grab the regular Pro (check out my full comparison review to see how they stack up). And that Poco F4 GT is one of my favourites for gaming grunt, blazing through Genshin Impact at the rest.

Realme's excellent 9 Pro Plus and GT Master Edition are also well worth a squint - here's hoping the new Realme 10 Pro Plus actually comes to the UK at some point. So many to consider, so which is your personal favourite mid-range mobile?
