As both a fan of EDC philosophy and the original Apple Watch I thought I would offer some discussion on the rather divided opinion on Apple Watch among EDC enthusiasts.

I look at the unique set of features that I find so appealing about the original Apple Watch and then explore the new features and value proposition of the Apple Watch Ultra.

I also explore some more philosophical points that seem to overlap here in terms of software freedom and Apple's approach.

By the way EDC stands for Everyday Carry - it is a community/philosophy/idea that encompasses the generally obsessive hobby of refining the gear we carry on our person every day. It is taken very seriously by those who enjoy the process of selecting the right things.
