Apple's new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro smartphones bring several new features, alongside a new design with flat edges that takes us back to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5. The entire iPhone 12 line now supports 5G connectivity, with both sub 6Ghz and mmWave in the USA. Other iPhone 12 features include a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR Display, and two rear cameras that both support night mode. And the iPhone 12 lineup’s screen also has a new “Ceramic Shield” glass cover that Apple claims will make the screen more durable. You can order the iPhone 12 right now for $829 ahead of its October 23rd release.

Exclusive to the iPhone 12 Pro models is a new LIDAR sensor, which will be used for additional AR effects. Apple also says that the LIDAR scanner will be used to help iPhone 12 Pro camera autofocus in low-light situations, making autofocus for low-light photography up to six times faster. It also enables Night Mode portrait photography shots.

Apple is once again offering a triple-camera system on the iPhone 12 Pro, with 12-megapixel wide, telephoto, and ultrawide camera lenses. The wide camera now offers a faster f/1.6 aperture, which Apple says offers 27 percent improved low-light performance, while the 52mm focal telephoto now offers a 4x optical zoom range.
