Apple’s ‘environmental move’ to axe iPhone 12 accessories ‘riled people up’

Apple's decision not to include a charger or earphones with its new iPhone 12 for environmental reasons has people “riled up”, according to Tech Guide Editor Stephen Fenech.

“The whole idea was to try to make that package even smaller just so that they could ship even more units in the same container,” he told Sky News.

“So it’s another environmental move to reduce their carbon footprint.”

Mr Fenech said the iPhone 12 Pro was “surprisingly” cheaper than the iPhone 11 Pro from 2019.

“I suppose you’re entitled to a little bit of a discount considering you’re not getting the chargers and the earphones in the box,” he said.
