2021 Apple TV 4K review | Should you buy the new Apple TV 4k

This is a review of the new 2021 Apple tv 4K. I replaced my Original apple tv HD with this device a week ago.
so lets quickly get though the specs so i can share my experience with this device and let you know if this device is worth the 179 asking price compared to the competition which might be 1/5th the cost.
the new apple tv some with A12 processor inside it along with an HDMi 2.1 port which allows it to show content in 4K 60 frames a second with HDR and dolby vision support and Earn support. The new apple tv also comes with the brand new siri remote which we will get to in a bit and other notable changes between this and the previous generation apple tv 4k is
wifi 6 and thread support for smart home devices.
Now lets get into 5 reasons why i bought the apple TV , but before we begin, if you are not in the apple eco system, please don’t buy an apple tv. it really only makes sense if you also have at a minimum and iPhone and is greatly benefited from also having a mac an aipods.

1. I have a 75” 4k LG tv in my living room and this TV was the generation that came out right before apple tv + and airplay support came directly built into the TV like my LG 65:8600. If you have one of these newer models it doesn’t make sense to get an apple TV. Running an 1080 Apple TV just wanst doing my TV justice.
2. I actually lost my old apple TV remote, which seems insane cause its never left my house and I’m sure some day i will find it, but i was using my old apple tv using my phone as a remote. Speaking of which the new apple tv is a big step up from the previous remote. Its significantly easier to use , has a few more buttons on it to allow quicker access to basic tasks and the new D-pad / Touch sensitive controller feels a lot better to use.
you can use the direction buttons to navigate individual steps of use the swipes feature to move around the UI quicker or you can rest on the outer edge for a second when you are over a troll bar to scrub your timeline like the old school iPods i love the extra functionally. in fact i think i might order a second one of these for my older apple tv which i have moved into my bedroom.

3, Deep integration with apple eco system. as soon as you plug this device in its will connect to your iPhone and automatically configure all y our settings. if you had any previous apple tv its going to sync instantly. Airplay is an absolutely amazing feature and i can wirelessly stream from any apple devise including using myTV as a second screen for my MacBook, or just quickly pulling us my screen on the TV to show Mamta a picture of look through some website together.


4. Apples Servies- Apple Tv+ has been pretty great, there are several shows which i enjoyed like Morning show, For all man kind, Mythic quest , Ted lasso and a few others. The apple Tv comes with a free year of Apple TV+ and 3 free months of Apple arcade if you want to check out some of the games that apples service has to offer. With the latest version of apple TV OS you can connect a PS4/P5 or Xbox controller and get some proper gaming going on for the apple TV. I really hope sony and xbox would release their remote play apps for the apple TV to actailly allow you to use this and a streaming console. On top of that if you are are apple Music user you will be able to play apples newly launched Hires audio services through your home theater system and if you have an apple fitness subscription of which you get 3 months free as well you will get some deep integration with things like the apple watch .

5. general UI and app experience on the apple TV is great. The OF is super fluid and designed for multitasking. apps like Netflix offer Dolby vision content which for some reason doesn’t work directly through he LG app, which only give you regular HDR. also other streaming apps like OSN here in Dubai and Plex have the best and fastest interface on the apple and about of features compared to their TV in built counter parts.

So yes the Apple TV is expensive, and to be honest i haven’t really tried the other streaming devices. but if you are into the apple eco system you get a lot of deep integration and a very refined TV experience with the apple 2021 Apple TV 4k.
