reasoning for this hefty purchase:
so as you guys know from previous vlogs, i had a 7th gen ipad that i was using to take digital notes on already. if you're planning to use the ipad solely for note-taking, and you already have a laptop, the 7th gen is a great choice! it took me months and months to decide whether i should upgrade or not.
ultimately, the reasons i decided to make the buy were:
- for a bigger screen (for screen-sharing, easier note-taking, sidecar 2nd monitor use)
- to get rid of the air gap (which is surprisingly distracting when drawing and note-taking)
- to be able to use iPad OS features like mouse control and improved widgets
- better resolution for photo/video editing and digital illustration
- improved charging of the apple pencil (both convenience and speed)
- lastly and maybe most importantly, from a financial standpoint i was also able to justify the upgrade by using part of my scholarship to pay for the ipad :)
