The Griffin Survivor Endurance is a decent case. I like the design and the build quality of the product.

If you need a decent handling case that can take a hit, the Survivor Endurance is worth checking out. I like it slightly better than the Survivor Strong but the Survivor Extreme is best out of those three cases.

That might change after I use the Survivor Clear. But let's get on with the Griffin Survivor Endurance Review for the iPhone 11!

At MREH, Monty and I have based our Griffin Suvivor Endurance review for the iPhone 11 review on actual usage. Wake up in the morning, choose a case. Few hours later, choose a different case. Few hours after that, another case. It’s what we do.

Now the Endurance was the first Griffin case I used after their revamp. The older cases in Griffin’s lineup were below average so to see them make such a drastic change and improvement with their products was refreshing.

BUT after reviewing the Strong and Extreme, I realized that as a case, when compared to the hundreds I’ve reviewed in the last while, it’s a slightly above average case. Mostly because the buttons are terrible.

The build quality of this product is spectacular. Everything fits so well together. All of Griffin’s cases seem to be that way. It’s just so nice to see especially when compared to the older cases.

The case won’t slide around easily on the front or the back but if it does, don’t worry, Griffin Forticore’d all over this case as well.

Forticore.

Forticore.

Forticore!

The Griffin Survivor Endurance is a fairly bulky case. BUT Griffin has added a couple of design features that makes the case feel thinner than it actually is. First of all, the back of the case is recessed so it doesn’t feel as thick and the center of the case isn’t as wide as the corners so it helps with the one-handed usage of your device.

In an odd move, that recessed area doesn’t have the same diamond texture strip that’s found on the rest of the case.

When it comes to wear and tear, this case is going to look pretty much the same on the day that you get it and the day you get rid of it.

The back is frosted so it won’t show fingerprinting much and because it’s recessed, won’t get scratched as much. The frosted back works much better than the glossy finish of the Surivivor Strong.

When it comes to using my iPhone, my only gripe were the buttons. The are pretty tough. Easy to find, but though to use. I don’t usually pay much attention to buttons BUT like the rest of the case, Griffin’s done several neat things with it. First of all, the color of the buttons come from the Forticore strip on the inside of the case. The buttons themselves have a bit of texture that helps with finding them. Honestly, it’s these small things that have impressed me with Griffin’s new cases. BUT none of that matters when you can’t push them easily.

Forticore fail?

I had no issues accessing the screen, the port or the camera. One-handed usage isn’t too bad though the port cutout edge is noticeable. Not sharp like the Casetify case I’ll review next BUT still noticeable.

When it comes to protection, the case edges are high enough for a screen protector, the thickness of the case will keep your camera len’s off a flat surface and the edges are tight enough that dust and debris won’t be an issue.

When it comes to drops, Griffin claims that this case offers 11ft worth of drop protection. The strong has 10 ft and the Extreme has 15 ft.

I’ve been trying to figure out an honest way to gauge these claims so here’s a little nugget for you. The corners in the Strong are about 2.7-2.8mm thick. The Endurance sits around 3mm’s thick. The Extreme has corners that are 4mm thick.

So every .2mm that Griffin adds of their cases is equivalent to 1ft of drop protection?

That’s just theorycrafting. Here’s a bunch of drops to see if I break a screen protector.
