ويتسم الجهاز الجديد بتصميم مشابه لطراز iPhone 4 الشهير مع حواف وزوايا أكثر وضوحًا وشق أصغر على الشاشة، ويأتي مع شاشات أوليد من سامسونج بقياس 6.1 بوصة و 6.7 بوصة على التوالي.

وقد سلط مقطع فيديو يكشف تفاصيل الهاتف الضوء على عدد من المواصفات الداخلية، حيث يأتي الهاتف مع نظام الكاميرا الثلاثية الكامل مع مستشعرات LiDAR وشريحة A14 Bionic ودعم iOS 14 و تقنية الجيل الخامس.

ويأتي هذا الإعلان بعد أن كشفت تقارير سابقة بأن شركة أبل قد تعمل على تصميم آيفون جديد قابل للطي لتنافس شركة سامسونج.

وبالنسبة للسعر فمن المتوقع أن تكون طرازات iPhone 12 Pro مكلفة، إذ يُتوقع أن تبدأ الأسعار من 1000 دولار للإصدار طراز 128 جيجابايت و 1100 دولار لـ 256 جيجابايت و 1300 دولار لـ 512 جيجابايت لهاتف آيفون 12 برو.

كما سيباع هاتف آيفون 12 برو ماكس بـ1100 دولار مقابل 128 جيجابايت، و 1200 دولار لـ 256 جيجابايت و 1400 دولار لـ 512 جيجابايت.

ومن المقرر إطلاق الهاتف الجديد في سبتمبر 2020، لكن قد يتم تأجيله بسبب مشاكل الإنتاج الناتجة عن فيروس كورونا.
