Machine wash, clean and recondition a leather jacket

I bought this jacket second hand as I wanted something that had already been broken in and as something I could wear and not get upset at if it got wet, dirty or scruffy.
The jacket had a musty smell to it when I opened the post packaging and was a little off-putting. To get it dry cleaned, it would have cost me as much as the jacket cost me to buy, so I washed it in the machine - despite what it said on the label!
Well, its been over a week now and it still looks, feels and smells great. So, if you have a leather jacket that you are not too heavily invested in, try washing it the machine - despite what the naysayers may put in front of you.
I used Earth Choice wool and delicate mix washing liquid and Oakwood leather conditioner when it was dry.
